With the murals gone, Karen's studio looks like a room instead of a stage set

the front room is getting closer to finished

The view from the porch, looking north

the view northeast from the front porch

Cleaning out the junk and jungle behind the house revealed a long, old concrete retaining wall that was mostly hidden in moss and weeds

Backyard before shots

The house from the bottom of the front yard, looking towards the southeast. The wing on this side will be the master bedroom

From the road, looking southwest

Our garage, which will never house a car – our truck is bigger then the building. The rental car in the photo might barely fit...

My office is functional, although pretty bare

Progress of sorts - Karen has a real chair, anyway, and what passes for a sofa... the floors look better than they really are - we considered restoring them, but it wouldn't have looked good up close, so carpet will be covering them soon

The Cannibal Pot empty now, but will be cooking within a month

The boys are settling in comfortably. This will be the guest bedroom someday

Some shrubbery to clear around the carport

I'm standing outside the kitchen door

Blue bathrooms - this will change

The kitchen is not too bad, but will get a facelift

It's hard to tell in this photo, but the living room walls are the worst yellow color you can imagine, with dark gold "highlights"

The solarium is outside the back sliding glass door

From the master bedroom looking through the laundry/pantry into the kitchen, then into the little hall that leads to the attic stairs, and beyond into the living room

This will be the master bedroom, after some serious remodeling
